Woman in critical condition after being struck by car in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 24-year-old Boyne City woman has been hospitalized with critical injuries after police say she was hit by a car while crossing a street in Grand Rapids on Thursday night.

The crash happened on Lake Drive near Hampton Avenue SE at around 10:30 p.m.

Police say two women were walking together, attempting to cross Lake Drive, when one of them was hit by a car.

The woman, identified by police as Courtney Culver, was rushed to the hospital and remains in critical condition Friday afternoon.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and was cooperating with police.

    Facts please.
    “Near” Lake drive, or *AT* Lake drive?
    Pedestrians only have the right of way if they are crossing at an intersection. If they walk out into moving traffic in the middle of the block it is on them if they get hit.
