Chipotle is shutting down all of its stores nationwide on Monday for a few hours to hold a national staff meeting about food safety. The company’s more than 1,900 restaurants will take part in the required meeting.

Chipotle said the meeting would provide an opportunity to thank employees, discuss changes and answer questions.

The good news for you? If you were planning on going to Chipotle for lunch, you can score a burrito”raincheck.”

Simply text “raincheck” to 888-222. The restaurant chain will send you a coupon for a free burrito sometime over the next few days.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Feb. 1 that the outbreak of E. coli illness linked to Chipotle restaurants that sickened 60 people appeared to be over.

The CDC said Monday the most recent illness reported to the agency started on Dec. 1.

The source is still unknown, however.

Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. undertook an aggressive revamping of food preparation methods at its more than 1,900 locations. But the outbreak drove the company’s stock down by 26 percent over the past three months and it warned of a potentially sizeable hit to profits last month.
