While Kate waits to be briefed, allow me to brief everyone else.

Grand Rapids Police Sergeant Terry Dixon said a man who was on his way to work in the 1000 block of Dickinson Street told police he was robbed at gunpoint. Police responded to the scene, where a K-9 unit tracked footprints to an area where a vehicle appeared to have left the scene.

A few hours later, police say a driver crashed a vehicle into a fence in the 300 block of Fox Street. The driver’s description was similar to that of the armed robbery suspect.

Grand Rapids Police determined the vehicle was stolen, and the driver was not inside. A K-9 unit led officers to the home in the 200 block of Dickinson Street. Police surrounded the home and have been there for several hours.

Police say some individuals who were inside the home have cooperated and come out of the home. Some area homes have been evacuated.

Police report that the situation has been resolved as of 1:44pm.
Not sure what Fox17 has been doing since then, but it obviously hasn’t been updating the public on this story.
