TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – A cold winter weekend in northern Michigan yielded some stunning images from the air.

The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station in Traverse City posted four photos from their helicopter over the weekend on Facebook.  The photos show Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the Empire Bluffs Overlook and South Manitou Island.

In one of the posts, a representative from the Coast Guard comments that Lake Michigan is clear of ice up to the Straits of Mackinac.
