Griffins strike twice in first, but fall to Charlotte on Purple Community Night

Tyler Bertuzzi and Andy Miele both scored first-period goals for a 2-1 lead, but the Charlotte Checkers responded with two in the second and went on to net a 4-2 win over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday night. The loss comes on the Griffins' fifth annual Purple Community Night for cancer awareness.
