KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Crews put out two separate house fires in Kalamazoo Saturday night and officials are now investigating whether they are connected.
Fire crews were first called to a home on Main and Edwin Street. Three people were home at the time of the fire.
Officials say no one in the home was hurt, but a firefighter received minor injuries after a hose malfunctioned.
Shortly after putting out the first fire, crews responded to another blaze on Phelps and Highland Street.
Crews say the home was vacant at the time due to it being renovated.
Both homes received damage to their roofs.
Officials say that both fires are suspicious and are likely related.
The fires remain under investigation.
