Wrong Springfield school locked down after Facebook threat

SPRINGFIELD, Mich. – A Calhoun County middle school was placed on lockdown for a short time Friday morning after a threat was reported on social media.

However, after researching the threat made to “Springfield Middle School,” the sheriff’s office was able to determine that the threat was meant for Springfield Middle School in Holland, Ohio, and not meant for the Springfield, Michigan school.

Investigators also confirmed the threat with the Holland Police Department…in Ohio.

There is no threat to the school or community of Springfield, Michigan, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
