KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The family of the youngest victim in the mass shooting in Kalamazoo from February has announced more good news.

Abigail Kopf, 14, is recovering from critical injuries suffered on the night of February 20, when six other people were killed and another woman was wounded.  Kopf was wounded in the head and was almost pronounced dead before she squeezed her mother’s hand.

Over the weekend, the GoFundMe account for Kopf and her family surpassed its $50,000 goal.  The family also announced that Seelye KIA is lending the family the use of a vehicle during Abbie’s rehabilitation.

Abbie’s parents also reported on the page that she was laughing and joking with them and watched some Harry Potter over the weekend.

Two of the six people killed in the rampage were killed at Seelye KIA on Stadium Drive while looking at cars.  The other four, and Abbie, were shot at the Cracker Barrel in Kalamazoo.
