LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette on Monday released the mugshots of former state representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat.

Courser, who represented the Lapeer area, and Gamrat, who represented the Plainwell area, both face charges stemming from their extramarital affair and failed attempt to cover it up while in office.

Courser is charged with felony perjury and three counts of misconduct in office, while Gamrat faces two counts of misconduct in office.

The two were charged March 1.

After the scandal broke in August, the freshmen Republican House members asked to be censured. But the Republican-led House pursued expulsion.

Courser, who resigned rather than be expelled, and Gamrat, who was kicked out, were ousted from their posts in September.
