Blandford Nature Center breaks ground on new facility

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Blandford Nature Center broke ground Friday on a new visitor center.

The center will have a 300-seat auditorium for student visits, space for wildlife ambassadors and even room for weddings and other big events. The center will be about 11,000 square feet and will be LEED-certified.  It is expected to open late in the summer of 2017.

Blandford Nature Center was founded more than 50 years ago and hosts about 50,000 visitors annually.
