WEST MICHIGAN-  What a warm last 24 hours we’ve enjoyed!  Most of the snow has melted, and all the large piles and everything else hiding in the shade will continue to return to its liquid form by the end of today.

Shortly before 11 AM, many areas were already in the 60s.  These temperatures have remained warm for most of the night as well.

Garry AM Dayplanner (7)

We’ll enjoy a very nice warmup into the upper 60s as we break into a bit of sunshine later on this afternoon.  If you’re wondering whether or not this is a record, it’s actually not even close!  The record high on this day was set back in 2000 at 78 degrees!

We’ll cloud back up overnight as scattered showers arrive by morning.  This will probably be more umbrella worthy than anything we’ve seen recently.  It won’t impact the entirety of your morning commute, though.

RPM 2 (1)

Heavier rains arrive later on in the evening, and this will be a more widespread event.  As this wears on into the night. we can even expect a few rumbles of thunder as well!

Garry Rainfall Totals

Many areas by the end of Thursday will receive over an inch of rain, with some areas up to 2 inches!  With the ground already saturated from melting snow, rivers will have the potential to swell up even more.  We’ll keep you posted on that, and the developing rains throughout the day.
