KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The man accused of setting fire to an adult entertainment shop in Kalamazoo has been found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Mitchell Hapner is now being taken to a facility for forensic psychiatry, where he will be examined.  The prosecutor’s office has filed a petition that Hapner is placed under court order while under treatment.

Hapner was accused of starting the fire in February of 2015 at the Hollywood Nights store on south Westnedge Avenue.  He told police after his arrest that he was trying to “eradicate porn.”
