HOLLAND, Mich. — On Saturday, hundreds of people showed up to a bone marrow drive for a local mother fighting leukemia.

It was held at the Biggby Coffee located at 650 Chicago Drive in Holland.

Shannon Shamback has fought leukemia since February and is in need of a stem cell transplant. Her brother will be her donor, but her family wanted to save more lives by adding more names to the registry. Organizers said about 70% of people suffering from blood related illnesses must rely on strangers to find a match.
