West Michigan – The Winter Storm Watch for the area has been replaced by Winter Weather Advisories.

A Winter Weather Advisory for Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Montcalm and Isabella counties goes into effect 8 AM Wednesday and continues through 8 AM Thursday.

A Winter Weather Advisory for Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent and Ionia counties goes into effect 8 PM Wednesday and continues through 8 AM Thursday.

SNOW FCST

The computer models have come into agreement on where the heavies snow from this system will be. Along and north of a line from Manistee to Cadillac to Alpena over a foot of snow is possible by Friday morning. Snowfall amounts along I-96 will be under 2 inches.

A more significant impact for our area will be the chance of freezing rain. Ice accumulation will under 1/10 of an inch for Kent, Muskegon, and Allegan counties but could exceed 1/4 of an inch for parts of Newaygo, Mecosta and Montcalm counties.

The “exact” track of the storm is still not certain so these values could change as the storm approaches.
