Man, 75, hospitalized after being hit by school bus mirror

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 75-year-old Cascade Township man was hospitalized Monday after being struck by a Forest Hills school bus mirror.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department says the man was hit at about 8:19 a.m. while he was crossing Cascade Road in a crosswalk near 28th Street.

The bus was transporting children at the time of the incident, but officials say no other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.   The man’s exact condition was unclear.

    Was the bus turning right off Thornapple River because no one, NO ONE, pays attention to the no turn on red right there

    It’s not a question of “if” a child is run over, but “when.” With two ice cream parlors and park near this cross walk, and 40 MPH heavy traffic (much of it going 45-50 MPH), there’s no way for most traffic to yield to pedestrians. LOWER THE SPEED LIMIT!
