HARTFORD, Mich. —  A man has been formally arraigned in the stabbing of a 61-year-old woman at a Hartford senior living complex.

The Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office says that Daniel Woodruff was charged Wednesday with assault with intent to murder, home invasion and armed robbery in connection with the Tuesday morning stabbing at McDowell Apartments.

Woodruff allegedly stabbed Charlotte Young at least six times.   Young’s boyfriend George Segelstron told FOX 17 on Tuesday that she woke up in the middle of the night to a man standing over her and he began to stab her.

Young underwent surgery to remove the part of the knife that was in her.

Woodruff is being held on a $3 million bond.  He’s scheduled to be back in court April 6.
