KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- With the fullest roster he's had since taking over the program, Western Michigan head coach P.J. Fleck is enjoying what he calls the "most competitive" spring the Broncos have had in his tenure.

"It's definitely the most competitive," he said after Thursday's scrimmage at Waldo Stadium. "This is actually the most people we've had during the spring season that we've ever had. Now, that promises you nothing because now we're finally -- the first year in terms of spring -- to have depth, but not only depth. Now all of a sudden, as the next two, three, four years go by, now that talent gets even better and it really meets with the depth."

"In terms of internally, we're playing a lot of guys. A lot of battles. We actually went live on the quarterbacks today for the first time since I've been here, just to see how people respond."

The Broncos host the Nekton Neon Night practice at Waldo Stadium on Friday night at 8 p.m. Their spring game is scheduled for April 23 at 11 a.m.
