WEST MICHIGAN — All those folks that paid big bucks for their Spring Break week in Florida, Mexico, California, or some other warmer location are probably laughing at us West Michigan residents while their toes are in the sand. Mother Nature certainly made it worth their while this year as temperatures here will remain below normal all week.
We may see temperatures briefly in the upper 40s and low 50s Wednesday, but that will come with the chance of widespread rain. In fact, our forecast models are showing the possibility of it actually being cold enough for lake-effect snow showers along/west of U.S. 131 later in the week on Friday.
Wish I could say it was a bad April fool’s joke, but that’s not the case. Our best day this week may actually be Tuesday with a fair amount of sunshine, but temperatures will remain well below our normal highs in the lower 50s (probably lower 40s).
Don’t forget the home opener for the West Michigan Whitecaps is this Saturday, April 9 at 4 PM. Right now the forecast looks dry but cold with highs between 40 and 45 degrees. Bundle up! Click here for the entire schedule.
