Tracy William Kanary, 47, was arrested earlier this month for a home invasion and driving on a suspended license. He was being held at the Ottawa County Jail until April 7 when he developed a “medical issue” and was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital for treatment, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were called out to the hospital around 9:00 Saturday morning on a report that a patient had “possibly stolen a jacket and had left the hospital”.

Units from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office searched the area around the hospital but didn’t immediately find Kanary.

Kanary was found and taken back in to custody a couple hours later. The Sheriff’s Department says he was picked up around 4:45 p.m. without incident at a business on Robbins Road, east of 172nd Avenue.

Kanary is now lodged at the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
