Former school staffer accused of embezzling $200k from Christian school

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A former bookkeeper with Western Michigan Christian High School is being accused of embezzling payroll statements for seven years.

Kathleen Ann Wilkie, 56, was arrested Friday and faces a charge of embezzlement over $100,000 after investigators found irregularities in payroll statements.

According to the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office, the alleged embezzlement took place over a span of seven years, from 2008 to 2015. Prosecutor DJ Hilson said an investigation conducted by Norton Shores police found that nearly $208,000 was allegedly taken.

She is being held in the Muskegon County Jail without bond.
