MUSKEGON, Mich. - April is National Childhood Abuse Prevention Month and those who work to help kids in abusive situations are being recognized.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office is working with the Child Abuse Council to recognize officials who try to put an end to abuse and neglect. 1,100 victims were helped in Muskegon County last year and there were nearly 35,000 confirmed victims in Michigan.
The Prosecutor's Offices calls the abused children courageous and brave for stepping up and telling adults what is happening.
