Man charged with Muskegon murder after Ohio arrest

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A 20-year-old man has been formally charged in connection with a fatal Muskegon shooting.

The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office says that Jaylan Deshawn Traviss was arraigned Tuesday.

He faces charges of open murder, felony firearms and armed robbery in connection with the April 2 shooting of Charles Cuti.  He was arrested April 20 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Another suspect, Corey Nathaniel Burt. Jr., is also charged with open murder and armed robbery in connection with Cuti’s death.

Cuti, 23, of Nunica was found dead April 2 in a parking lot outside Sam’s Drink All Party Store, 1500 S. Getty St.

Traviss is scheduled to be back in court May 10.
