HASTINGS, Mich. — An Ohio man pleaded no contest Tuesday to an October armed robbery at the Hastings Walgreens.

Eric Gregory Lawson pleaded no contest to a charge of armed robbery.  He’s a fourth time habitual offender and will spend at least 25 years in prison as part of the plea deal, according to the Barry County Prosecutor’s Office.

Lawson was charged with going to the Walgreens Pharmacy Oct. 14 and giving a note to an employee saying that he had a gun.   He also allegedly robbed another employee while leaving the store, according to Hastings Police.   He was arrested Oct. 17 in Grand Rapids.

As part of the plea deal, a charge of unarmed robbery was dropped.
