ROTHBURY, Mich. — Authorities say a man has died after jumping out of a moving pickup truck during a dispute while his wife was at the wheel.

Donald Pider jumped out of the truck in the area of Winston Road and Bartlett Road in Rothbury, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Department.   Officials were called to the area at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff’s department says the 34-year-old man was being treated when his wife drove up and said he was her husband and had jumped from the truck.  Authorities say she indicated that they had left a party and he jumped out because he wanted to go back to the party.

The sheriff’s department says both were intoxicated and Pider died while being taken to a hospital.  His 33-year-old wife was jailed, pending formal charges.
