GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — The state says filming takes place this spring for a faith-based drama at the Berlin Raceway in western Michigan and throughout Grand Rapids.
The Michigan Film & Digital Media Office says “God Bless the Broken Road” is eligible to receive an about $2.7 million incentive based on an estimated total production, post production, publicity and advertising budget of more than $7.7 million.
The film directed by Harold Cronk will also hire 92 Michigan workers. The state says the movie features car racing and will tell the story of a young woman who loses her husband during combat in Afghanistan and is left alone to raise their young daughter.
An incentive agreement for the film was approved before legislation took effect eliminating the program for film and digital media incentives.
