North Carolina man is overall River Bank Run 25K winner

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The men’s and women’s 25K winners have been crowned in Saturday’s 39th annual Fifth Third River Bank Run.

The overall winner was also the men’s 25K victor — Christopher Landry from Charlotte, N.C., in 1:15:31. He finished just ahead of runner-up Jared Ward of Kaysville, Utah, who crossed the finish line in 1:15.43.

Meanwhile, the women’s 25K was  won by Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton of Santa Fe, N.M., in 1:25:35.

River Bank Run officials estimated the crowd of runners at between 15,000 and 20,000 Saturday.

In earlier races, the winners of the River Bank Run 5K were both from Michigan — Alex Russeau of Dundee and Sarah Boyle of Brighton.

Russeau was the first male to finish with a time of 14:42.45. Boyle was the first female to finish, she crossed the finish line at 15:49.26.

A total of 3,566 people ran the 5K race through downtown Grand Rapids.

The 10K started shortly after. Russeau also finished first in that race with a time of 30:59.14.

Boyle too ran the 10K, she was the second woman to finish with a time of 35:05.58.  Veronicah Maina from Lansing was the first, she crossed the finish line with a time of 34:14.13.
