ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says that a reported armed robbery in Allendale Township Saturday night didn’t happen.

Deputies were called about 10:00pm to the Admiral Gas Station on Lake Michigan Drive and 68th Avenue on reports of an armed robbery. The clerk told deputies that a man claiming to have a gun had demanded cash.  She gave him an undisclosed amount and he ran from the scene.

Wednesday, the sheriff’s department determined that the incident did not happen as reported by the clerk.  The clerk, a 24-year-old Allendale woman, could face charges for Obstructing Police by a False Report.  The Ottawa County Prosecutor is reviewing the charges.  The woman is not currently in custody.
