Branch Co. mounted officer seriously injured on parade detail

QUINCY, Mich. – A member of the Branch County Sheriff’s Department posse was seriously injured Monday while on parade detail.

The Sheriff’s Office says that Posse Member Deputy Mike Winter, 39, was thrown from his horse after it was spooked by a noise at a Memorial Day Parade in Quincy, Michigan.  Winter fell and hit his head.

Winter remained in serious condition Tuesday morning.
