New high-tech jobs coming to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Regional economic development organization The Right Place, Inc., in conjunction with local and state partners, has announced the approval on Wednesday of a large grant that will bring high-tech jobs to Grand Rapids.

The $200,000 Michigan Strategic Fund high-tech grant will be given to DornerWorks, Ltd. This grant is expected to bring $1.3 million in new investment to the city of Grand Rapids over the next three years and will additionally bring 25 new high-tech jobs to the city.

DornerWorks is a provider of embedded electronics and software engineering services and solutions for many other industries including aerospace, defense and medical.  The company has won other grants with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Navy.  Their headquarters are at 3445 Lake Eastbrook Blvd. SE.
