GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A rider was hospitalized after an SUV turned in front of his motorcycle and the two collided Sunday morning.

At 10:26 a.m. Sunday, the Kent County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motorcycle vs. SUV crash on Kalamazoo Avenue south of 60th Street in Gaines Township. The investigation revealed that Man Singh Gurung, 25, of Kentwood was traveling southbound on Kalamazoo Avenue on a 2012 Honda motorcycle when a northbound 2015 Ford Escape driven by Sarah Livingston, 22, of Rochester Hills made a left turn in front of the motorcycle and the two collided.

Gurung was wearing a helmet and was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in downtown Grand Rapids by AMR ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Livingston and two adult passengers were not injured.

Deputies said alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.

Livingston was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
