  1. Be prepared to encounter some heavy traffic on US 31 in Oceana County.

Thousands of people are expected to head to Rothbury for the annual electric forest music festival starting Thursday. People have already started pouring in to come enjoy the event.

There will be dozens of artists, plenty of neon, and an entire weekend of music fans camping out.

Electric forest runs through Sunday.

2. The Grand Rapids Public Museum will be opening its doors to the public for free on July 10th.

From 12-5 p.m., museum visitors will receive free general admission to explore the three floors of exhibits including the current Earth Explorers exhibit.

The museum offers a variety of core and traveling exhibits that appeal to all ages.

While general admission is free, you’ll still have to pay for admission to the robot zoo, planetarium shows, and the museum's 1928 Spillman carousel.

3. If you are tempted to drink alcohol while operating a boat this weekend, you need to know police and deputies are stepping up patrols.

The Michigan DNR is getting more crews on the Great Lakes, as well as the local rivers and smaller inland lakes.

It's part of a national campaign called Operation Dry Water.

Passengers also need to be aware of drinking while boating. Officials say passengers who drink too much are frequently injured or fall overboard.

Safety tips include wearing a life jacket at all times, and making sure you let friends or family know when you head out and when you plan to return.

4. Just in time for vacations and summer reading, e-book readers are getting some cash back.

The money is part of an anti-trust lawsuit against the nation's largest book providers.

Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and Apple are accused of taking part in an alleged price-fixing scheme.

If you bought e-books from any of those sellers between April 2010 and May 21, 2012 you're eligible for a refund.

For New York Times bestsellers, qualified buyers should receive nearly $7 per book and $1.75 for other e-books.

E-book buyers will either see a credit in their account, or receive a check in the mail.

5. Friday is National Take Your Dog to Work Day.

This national day actually started in the United Kingdom in 1996.

Then in 1999, Pet Sitters International founded the first day in the United States.

So check with your boss, but it might be nice to have your K-9 companion join you at the office.
