Jay Smith looks to resurrect Kalamazoo College MBB

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Former Central Michigan and Grand Valley State head coach Jay Smith is taking over the Kalamazoo College men's basketball program after eight seasons as an assistant at Detroit Mercy. The Hornets went 3-22 last season and haven't won an outright MIAA championship since 1950.

Smith won two MAC championships during his tenure in Mount Pleasant and was an assistant at Michigan during the Fab Five years.
