Man with gun confronts patrons in Kalamazoo County restaurant

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police arrested a man who brandished a gun and confronted customers in a Kalamazoo County restaurant Saturday night.

At 10:57 p.m. Saturday, the the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a man with a gun at a restaurant in the 5400 block of Gull Road in Comstock Township. Callers said the man had entered the business and was confronting patrons when he presented a handgun from his waistband.

Officers from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, Kalamazoo Township Police Department and Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded. The man was taken into custody without incident.

A handgun was recovered at the scene.

The man is being held without bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail on charges of felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

The incident remains under investigation by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department.
