Passenger in I-96 crash dies

COOPERSVILLE, Mich. – One of the men injured in a crash on I-96 Monday has died.

The Ottawa County Sheriff says that Jack Flynn, 21, of White Lake, Michigan died in the crash that closed I-96 between 48th Avenue and 68th Avenue for hours on Monday.

The one-car crash also seriously the driver of the vehicle. The vehicle struck a tree after leaving the highway.  Both men in the vehicle had to be extricated by rescue crews.

The sheriff’s office says that Flynn was taken off of life support Wednesday morning.
