KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — Newly released photos shed some light on what happened leading up to a deadly cycling crash in Kalamazoo.
Five bicyclists were killed and four others injured in the June 7 crash on Westnedge Avenue.
Charles Pickett Jr. is facing numerous charges in connection with the crash, including five counts of second-degree murder. Prior to the crash, police received numerous reports of erratic driving.
The photos, released Thursday, show tire tracks cutting across a yard at a home on G Avenue, roughly a mile from the crash.
Other photos show more tire tracks and a street sign toppled near Kalamazoo Central High School.
Pickett is currently undergoing a mental competency exam.
