The Detroit Historical Museum is hosting a monthlong documentary film series focusing on some of Detroit’s cultural heritage and in honor of the city’s 315th birthday.

The series features the “Our Story Of” series produced by Keith Famie. Screenings, which are free, will be shown in the museum’s lower level.

The series kicks off Saturday and Sunday with “Our Polish Story: Family, Faith and Fortitude.” Films shown during subsequent weekends document those who trace their roots to the Arab world, Italy, Greece and India.

Filmmaker Famie is a former restaurateur and reality show host and contestant.
