BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A man who was convicted in a 2015 bank robbery and police shootout in Battle Creek has been sentenced.
Robert Terrell Williams was sentenced to between 60 and 90 years in prison, according to the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office. He was charged with three counts of armed robbery, felony firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and felonious assault.
Williams and two others were arrested in connection with the PNC bank robbery that happened Nov. 21, 2015 in the 2000 block of Capital Avenue SW. They were arrested after exchanging gunfire with responding officers. Williams suffered a hand wound in the exchange.
Richard Charles Young, one of the others involved in the robbery, is scheduled to be sentenced July 15. The other, Whitney Patrice Hampton, was sentenced to one year in jail after testifying against Young and Williams, according to the prosecutor’s office.
