KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A spike in robberies and gun violence in a Kalamazoo neighborhood led investigators to the arrests of three suspects.

The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team (KVET) received tips from residents that a group of individuals behind a string of robberies were hiding out at a home in the 1300 block of Alamo Hills Drive. After surveilling the subjects of the residence, KVET found that there were three suspects from the Kalamazoo area with outstanding warrants for armed robbery.

The three suspects surrendered and were arrested without any trouble. During a search of the house, KVET found three handguns, a shotgun, and evidence from recent robberies.

Two men – ages 18 and 19 – were arrested on a felony armed robbery warrant. A 17-year-old male was arrested for violating his probation.

Several felony charges are being forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office.
