GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- A local organization is working to honor our veterans this Christmas with an event this Saturday.

The Ottawa-North Kent Blue Star Mothers talk about the 'Christmas in July' fundraiser, which raises money to lay wreaths on the graves of veterans for Christmastime. It's part of the Wreaths Across America project in Grand Rapids, and includes several different events.

The event takes place Saturday, July 16th at Sobie Meats in Walker. Ray Bentley, a former NFL linebacker, will be there to sign books, and a blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
