ST. JOSEPH, Mich. - Hundreds gathered Tuesday afternoon in downtown St. Joseph to remember two bailiffs killed in a courthouse shooting Monday.

Ronald Kienzle, 63, and Joseph Zangaro, 61 were killed after an inmate being escorted to a hearing overpowered a deputy.

The inmate is identified as Larry Darnell Gordon, 45, from Coloma. He was shot and killed in an ensuing standoff.  Two others, a deputy and a civilian, were also wounded.

Local officials and community and religious leaders gathered outside the courthouse today to pay tribute to the fallen officers.  There was a moment of silence and a short march around the downtown area.

The courthouse was closed Tuesday.

We'll have more from St. Joseph on later editions of FOX 17 News.
