Unemployment reform legislation headed to House floor

Posted

LANSING, Mich. -- Today, the House Oversight and Ethics Committee voted to send unemployment reform legislation to the House floor.

The bill aims to implement many changes for the Unemployment Insurance Agency and prevent innocent people from being accused of unemployment fraud, as well as heavily fined.

State representative Roger Victory introduced the legislation in October 2015 and said one of the main focuses is improving communication between the agency and the citizen.

He expects the House to take up the bill in August.
