HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — An apparent street fight resulted in the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old man Thursday night, and two people are in custody in connection with the case.
The victim was identified as Seth Elijah Cuevas, who lives in Holland but is said to often stay at a place on Manley Street in Holland Township.
UPDATE: Police identified the 3 people they arrested for lying to police. They say Sergio Coda, Alexis Allen, and Mark Hekman all face one felony charge of lying to police. Officers say believe they "lied about material facts to specifically mislead investigators". They are all being held on $100,000 bond each. None of them are being charged with the homicide itself. At least one of the three arrested was at the scene when the deadly fight broke out.
The fight occurred around 10:33 p.m. Thursday at an address on Manley Street east of N. River Avenue. Several people were involved in the fight, and the victim was stabbed once in the chest.
Deputies who arrived tried to help Cuevas, but he died at the scene.
The suspects in custody are a 23-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a 19-year old man who are to be charged with lying to police but not with murder.
The fight is said to have been the result of a disagreement between the two groups of people, but it's not yet known what the disagreement was.
