MUSKEGON, Mich. - Playing Pokemon Go in Muskegon has probably taken you to the Muskegon County Airport...and there are a few extra rules that officials are asking you to be aware of.

Officials released information Friday that the airport is one of the top three Pokemon Go sites in the Muskegon area.  Apparently, there are several Pokemon in the terminal building and in or near the airport property.

pokemonOne particular location is causing a problem because it is past the security checkpoint.  Officials say you can't get to that one, no matter what.  Also, if there are others inside the airport's perimeter fence, entering airport grounds is prohibited.

“While we support those playing the game, we would ask all players to please be mindful this is a commercial service airport with an established security program,” said Jeffrey Tripp, Muskegon Airport Manager in a press release.

Airport officials are making three requests of players:

  1. Park in short-term parking.  The first 30 minutes are free.
  2. Be aware of vehicle traffic in the terminal area.
  3. The "gym" is located near the ticket counters. Don't get in passenger's way as they are trying to catch their flights.
