Sacramento-based company brings operations to Kentwood

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– Economic development organization, The Right Place, announced Wednesday the approval of a $400,000 incentive that is said to bring new jobs and millions of dollars to the city of Kentwood.

A Sacramento, California company called Stikwood plans to bring the company’s operations into Kentwood. The new facility is projected to bring 73 new jobs and $4.2 million in new investment to the city.

Founded in 2012, Stikwood is known to be the world’s first “Peel & Stik” reclaimed wood planking. The planks are made from reclaimed and sustainable wood from all over the United States.

Vice President of The Right Place, Therese Thill, revealed that they had to compete with states such as Utah, Texas and Tennessee in order to get Stikwood to open up shop in West Michigan.

The business is set to be located at 4849 Barden Ct., in Kentwood.
