The 28th Annual Brian Bush Putt-for-Life Tournament takes place this Saturday.

The event is done in memory of Brian Bush, a young boy who was a patient at St. Jude in the late 80's, who was tragically dying from pneumonia while going through a bone marrow transplant.

Parents Michael and Marge Bush, started this event as a way to give back to the hospital back in 1989. They started with a simple mini golf tournament where people would donate $1 or more to fight cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

The very first event raised about $1000. Ever since then, the event has raised $615,400 over the past 26 years for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

It cost $25 to play in the tournament this year, but if you don't want to play competitively you can still give a donation, wander the grounds, and enjoy some food.

Putt For Life takes place at Loeschner's Village Green Putt Putt this Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They're located at 4521 Chicago Drive in Grandville. For complete details on the event, click here.
