MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon area churches are offering a big donation to local kids as they gear up to head back to school.

“Fortunately, we have maintained critical financial sponsors again this year,” said Pastor Doug Ogden of Lebanon Lutheran Church. “Each church works hard throughout the year to raise money for the project through a variety of events and partnerships.”

The organization is currently in the process of raising the $14,000 in financial support needed through local businesses, churches, and private donors to help pay for the items.

“We have a strong team of folks dedicated to serving the families who live in our communities,” said Ogden. “Seeing a child’s ear-to-ear grin when they receive their backpack makes it all worth it.”
