WYOMING, Mich. -- An apparent act of racist road rage was caught on camera and is now getting a lot of attention on social media.

A black driver says a white motorcyclist screamed racial insults at him. He caught the interaction on his cell phone before posting the exchange on Facebook. It happened Sunday near the intersection of 28th and Burlingame in Wyoming.

26-year-old Brandoen Guyton, a father of two, youth mentor and a basketball coach at Union High School told FOX 17 News he's never felt so disrespected.

"I was angry because it was unexpected and we are supposed to be in the year 2016, and a lot of people don’t believe racism exists even in GR," said Guyton. "

Guyton posted the video after driving home from a coach's meeting. He said he was on the phone with a team member's parent when he saw and heard a motorcyclist screaming at him.

"All I heard was 'Pay attention get off the phone n*****,'" Guyton said.

Unaware of having done anything to offend or threaten the motorcyclist, Guyton says he was startled and angry.

"I looked and saw the guy, and before I put down the phone I said, 'I gotta call you back someone just called me a n*****,'" said Guyton.

He began recording the biker and asked him to repeat what he said. Without missing a beat the biker hurled another racial slur accompanied by an obscene gesture.

"Can we learn from it?" asked Guyton. "We need to. People need to stop hiding and the closet. People need to come to reality."

Guyton is now urging the public to pay attention and speak out against injustice while living above reproach.

"You pray for people like him, pray for people like him every day," said Guyton. "Pray for those who have hatred in their heart."
