Hit and run suspect strikes child on bike, arrested in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An arrest was made after a car hit a child riding a bicycle Wednesday evening.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. near the intersection of Franklin & Eastern. Police say a driver hit a child riding their bike and sped away from the scene.

The child was up and walking again and didn’t suffer major injuries.

Out of the reported vehicle, a person was arrested and taken to jail.
