EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- For the first time in 16 seasons, Peter Stuursma won't be the man patrolling the sidelines for East Grand Rapids football. The seven-time state champion head coach took the same job at Hope College in January -- but the heir to the Pioneer program is well-versed in those championship ways.

Casey Longo was a captain on the 2002 state title team and the team's offensive coordinator the past two seasons. His first practice as his alma mater's head coach was Monday as teams around the state took the field for the first time in 2016.
