MILLERSBURG, Mich. (AP) — A 55-year-old man has been arrested in the slaying of a woman whose body was found in a wooded area in Michigan’s northeastern Lower Peninsula.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Wednesday that authorities have identified the body as 42-year-old Heather Young.
The body was found Tuesday near Millersburg in Presque Isle County, northwest of Alpena.
Young, of Sherwood in southern Michigan, was last seen leaving an Onaway bar on July 30. Police later found her car in a nearby parking lot. She was reported as missing on Aug. 2.
Police say witnesses saw the man and Young together at the bar.
The suspect is from Millersburg. He is jailed and awaiting murder and other charges.
